Friday (Jan. 30th)

AP Psychology:  Today we watched a video on different neurological disorders.  An online version of the video can be found below in case you were absent:

Psychology:  Since I was absent today, I had the sub show an interesting episode of Brain Games.  It is not related to the unit we are in, but you should enjoy it!

Thursday (Jan. 29th)

AP Psychology:  Today we finished up looking at the parts of the Brain.  Notes can be found here and the PowerPoint can be found here.  We also had homework handed out today that is due on Monday.  Also, don’t forget that the reading quiz over Biology is on Monday!!!!!

Psychology:  Today we began talking about Cognitive Development in Childhood.  Notes can be found here.  We also have a homework reading which can be found here and is due on Monday.  Also, don’t forget to bring in childhood pictures next Wednesday!!!!!!!!

Wednesday (Jan. 28th)

AP Psychology:  Today we discussed types of Brain scans and began discussing the brain itself (The Cerebrum).  The PowerPoint from today can be found here .  Notes on scanning the brain can be found here and notes on the Cerebrum can be found here.

Psychology:  Today we began the unit on Human Development by discussing prenatal development and babies.  Notes from today can be found here.  If you were absent, you can borrow someone else’s notes or use pages 278-282 to fill in the notes.  Additionally, I handed out the Study Guide for the entire unit.

Monday (Jan. 26th)

AP Psychology:  We did test corrections.  See me after school one day if you were absent and would like the chance for these points.

Psychology: Today we talked about ethics in research. Here are the notes from today, and you can find information on the different unethical studies here.  Please use the reading to fill out the front side of the notes.

Friday (Jan. 23rd)

AP Psychology:  I distributed the Reading Guide for the Biology Unit.  The Reading Quiz will be next Friday.  We took the Reading Quiz for Sensation & Perception today, and then we worked together on an assignment dealing with some additional perception concepts.  A PowerPoint on the material from today can be found here.

Psychology:  We went over the research homework from the other day and did a group activity where students had to create an experiment.  If you missed class today, please complete this activity and turn it into me when finished.  And don’t forget, WE HAVE A TEST NEXT TUESDAY OVER THE INTRODUCTORY UNIT.

Thursday (Jan. 22nd)

AP Psychology:  Today we began the Sensation & Perception Unit by discussing Vision & Hearing.  The PowerPoint from today can be found here.  The notes from today can be found here.

Psychology:  Today we continued looking at research methods. Here are the notes from today, and we had a Homework assignment to practice our understanding of experimental design.  Please complete the assignment by Friday, when we will go over it together in class.

Wednesday (Jan. 21st)

AP Psychology:  Today we took the First Exam.  Just a reminder:  The Reading quiz over Sensation & Perception will be on Friday!

Psychology:  We began talking about research today, and we focused on proper sampling techniques.  sampling notes can be found here.  There was no homework.  But the Intro Unit Study Guide was also handed out, and the first exam will be next Tuesday (Jan. 27th).

Tuesday (Jan. 20th)

AP Psychology:  Today we discussed statistics.  The notes can be found here and the PowerPoint from today can be found here.  And don’t forget, WE HAVE AN EXAM TOMORROW (Over the Introductory Unit and the Research Methods Unit).

Psychology:  Today we discussed Feral Children, & what they might indicate in the nature/nurture debate.  Here are the notes from today & we read an article on Feral Children.

Friday (Jan. 16th)

AP Psychology:  Today we talked about different types of studies.  Notes can be found here and the PowerPoint can be found here.  I also distributed a practice FRQ which I encourage you complete this weekend (spend no more than 25 minutes completing it).

Psychology:  Today we continued exploring the Nature/Nurture debate by exploring Twin Studies and Adoptee Studies.  Both types of studies shed light onto this debate and tend to lean in the direction of Nature.  Notes from today can be found here.  Borrow a classmates’ notes or use pages 86-88 in the textbook to fill out the notes if you missed class.
