Wednesday (September 30th)

US History:  Today we continued watching Deliberate Intent.  Tomorrow, we will finish the film and there will be a writing assignment accompanying the film.

Psychology:   We started work on a poster project for Erikson’s Theory of Psychosocial Development.  The assignment can be found here.

Tuesday (September 29th)

US History:  Today we went over the case of Brandenburg vs. Ohio & began watching Deliberate Intent.

Psychology:  Today we took notes on Erikson’s Theory of Psychosocial Development.  Please see me if you need an additional copy of the note packet.

Thursday (September 24th)

US History:  Today we watched the following documentary about a Mosque under construction in Tennessee.  As we watched it we related it to the free-exercise clause of the 1st amendment.

Psychology:  Today we began looking at Kohlberg’s Theory of Moral Development.  Notes can be found here.  See me for the homework assignment that is due tomorrow.

Wednesday (September 23rd)

US History:  We discussed the Establishment Clause scenarios as a class by applying the Lemon Test to each of them.

Psychology:  Please read this article from the Wall Street Journal entitled “Why Tiger Mothers are Superior.”  Use the handout provided to answer the questions based on the article.

Tuesday (September 22nd)

US History:   Today we started talking about the the freedom of/from religion contained in the First Amendment.  Here are the notes from today and here is thePowerpoint that you can use to fill out the notes.   Also, here is the homework due tomorrow.

Psychology:  Today we watched an episode of Supernanny and connected the individuals in the show to the different parenting styles that we discussed the day before.

Thursday (September 17th)

US History:  Today we worked on the introductory assignment for the Bill of Rights Unit.  It can be found here and is due on Monday.

Psychology:  Today we took a quiz over the reading on Reactive Attachment Disorder, and we watched a documentary about a girl with the disinhibited type of the disorder.

Wednesday (September 16th)

US History:  Today we took the Constitution Exam.

Psychology:  Today we talked about the development of attachment in class.  Ask me for a copy of the notes if you need them.  Also, students are to read this overview of reactive attachment disorder.  We will have a 5 question reading check over this tomorrow in class.

Tuesday (September 15th)

US History:  Review day for the Constitution Exam which is tomorrow!  Please bring your computers with you!!!!

Psychology:  Today we used a childhood photograph to identify and apply Piaget’s Theory of Cognitive Development.  The photograph assignment (which will be collected tomorrow) can be found here.  For students without access to childhood photographs,  here is an alternative assignment which students can access in the place of the photograph assignment. Tomorrow, we will have a quiz over Piaget’s Theory of Cognitive Development (17 Question; Multiple Choice)
